[2026 Review] Genspark Speakly is Here: Is It the “Aqua Voice Killer”? 🐈
Updated: January 29, 2026
Introduction: A New Challenger Has Appeared
Hi everyone, it’s Kuro-nyanko-tan here! 🐈
Just when we thought the AI voice dictation market had settled, a massive wave has hit the industry.
Genspark has officially released its own voice input app: “Speakly."
I’m going to be completely honest with you: The moment I touched this app, I thought, “This might actually kill Aqua Voice."
For context, I have been a die-hard user of Aqua Voice. The main reason? It uses the Right Alt key for instant activation. It’s a small detail, but for workflow speed, it’s everything.
Here is the kicker: Speakly also uses the Right Alt key by default. The muscle memory is identical.
Because of this, I have officially paused my Aqua Voice subscription to test Genspark Speakly exclusively.
But Speakly isn’t just a dictation tool. It allows you to select text and use custom voice prompts like “Translate this to English" or “Make this sound more professional."
In this post, I will provide a thorough review of Genspark Speakly and compare it head-to-head with my long-time favorite, Aqua Voice. 🐈
What is Genspark Speakly? The New Era of AI Dictation
Released in January 2026 as part of the “AI Workspace 2.0," Speakly is Genspark’s answer to the voice productivity market.
Key Features of Speakly
- 4x Typing Speed: High-speed voice-to-text transcription.
- AI Auto-Editing: Automatically removes filler words (“um," “uh," “like") for clean text.
- 100+ Languages: Instant multilingual support (Japanese to English, English to Spanish, etc.).
- Custom Instructions: Fully customizable modes (Translation Mode, Command Helper, Business Mode).
- Genspark Agent Integration: Double-tap to activate “Deep Research," create slides, or generate spreadsheets via voice.
- Works Everywhere: Compatible with Slack, Gmail, Notion, VSCode, and 100+ other apps.
The Bottom Line: While the concept of “just speak and get perfect text" is the same as Aqua Voice, Speakly’s ability to connect with Genspark’s AI Agents puts it in a different league.

The Honest Review: Pros & Cons
✅ Why Speakly is Amazing
1. The “Right Alt" Key Workflow
This is a game-changer. If you are an Aqua Voice user, you know that tapping the Right Alt key with your pinky to start dictating is the peak of ergonomic efficiency.
Speakly adopted this exact default setting. This makes switching from Aqua Voice to Speakly completely painless. You don’t have to relearn how to type.
2. Text Selection + Custom Prompts = Revolution
This is a feature Aqua Voice lacks.
With Speakly, you can highlight a paragraph of text, hold the key, and say: “Translate this to English" or “Turn this into a bulleted list."
It directly modifies the selected text. It’s like having ChatGPT integrated directly into your cursor.
3. Powerful Genspark Agent Integration
If you are a Genspark user, you can double-tap to trigger agents. You can say, “Create a presentation for tomorrow’s meeting," and it will start generating slides. It’s not just dictation; it’s action.
❌ The Downsides (Real Talk)
1. It is Unstable (Early Access Blues)
This is the biggest issue right now.
Sometimes I press the Right Alt key… and nothing happens. I have to press it 2 or 3 times to wake it up. Occasionally, it freezes.
When you need to capture an idea instantly, this lag is stressful. Aqua Voice is rock-solid in comparison.
2. Microphone Switching is a Pain
In Aqua Voice, I can right-click the tray icon and switch from my headset to my external mic in 2 seconds.
In Speakly, I have to open the settings window, find the audio menu, and select the device. If you switch environments often (home office vs. cafe), this is annoying.
3. Pricing is Unclear
Currently, there is a 1-month free trial via referral, but we don’t know the long-term cost. Will it consume Genspark credits? Will it be a standalone sub? Aqua Voice is a flat $9.99, which is easy to budget for.
Verdict: Should You Switch from Aqua Voice?
My Conclusion: “I am actively testing the switch."
Speakly is feature-rich and exciting. The Custom Prompt feature alone can double your productivity. Because the Right Alt key feel is so good, I have paused Aqua Voice to force myself to use Speakly as my daily driver.
However, it is strictly for Early Adopters right now.
I will fully migrate if they fix these 3 things:
- Stability: It needs to launch 100% of the time.
- Mic UX: Easier switching via the taskbar.
- Pricing: Confirmation that it is included in the Genspark Plan.
If you value stability above all else, stick with Aqua Voice for now. If you want to taste the future of AI Agents, Speakly is worth the install.
How to Get Genspark for the Best Price
To use Genspark Speakly, you need a Genspark account.
Genspark is a premium tool, and the monthly cost is higher than standard ChatGPT Plus.
However, there is a way to get it cheaper.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q1. Is Speakly free?
A. Currently, there is a 1-month Free Trial via invite links.
Usually, it may consume Genspark Credits, but the trial allows unlimited use. Pricing after the trial has not been officially announced yet.
Q2. How is it different from Superwhisper?
A. Superwhisper is Local/Offline; Speakly is Cloud/Agent-based.
Superwhisper (Mac only) is great for privacy and offline use. Speakly requires internet but offers powerful AI Agent features (research, document creation).
Q3. How accurate is the dictation?
A. Extremely accurate.
It is on par with, or sometimes better than, Aqua Voice. It handles multi-language mixing very well.
Q4. Can I run Aqua Voice and Speakly at the same time?
A. You can, but keys will conflict.
Since both default to the Right Alt key, you must change the shortcut for one of them. I recommend pausing one to avoid confusion.
Summary
To wrap up my review of Genspark Speakly:
- ✅ Right Alt Key activation is perfect (Same as Aqua Voice!)
- ✅ Text Selection + Custom Prompts is a revolution.
- ✅ Agent integration saves massive time.
- ❌ Still buggy/unstable.
- ❌ Mic switching is tedious.
I will report back in a month to see if I have permanently deleted Aqua Voice or if I’ve gone back to it.
Why not give Genspark a try and see if it fits your workflow?
Happy Dictating! (・ω・)ノ
Bonus Note
Are you still just using ChatGPT?
I actually cancelled my ChatGPT subscription recently. Why? Because Genspark gives me access to ChatGPT Pro models anyway.
My current 2026 stack: Gemini + Genspark + GitHub Copilot + Aqua Voice (Testing Speakly).
Genspark is expensive, but it consolidates so many tools that it saves money in the long run.
